How to Spend a Day in Vegas
Are you going to be in Vegas only for one day and want to make sure you see the best the city has to offer? We’ve put together an itinerary from morning until night that will have you well fed, thoroughly entertained and with no regrets.
Start your morning off right with a hearty breakfast at the Treasure Island Buffet. Known for their world-class food and a huge variety of dishes, this is truly one of the best buffets in Vegas. Recommended by Travel + Leisure, Frommer’s and USA Today, this casual dining spot has made-to-order omelets and incredible pastries. Breakfast is served until 11am so you have no excuse to skip the most important meal of the day.
While most people love to see Sin City all lit up at night, the best way to avoid the crowds is to head to a great lookout spot during the day. Located at the Linq, the High Roller Observation Wheel is the tallest observation wheel in the world. It takes a full 30 minutes for the wheel to make one complete rotation and gives you a chance to see the city from a whole other angle. Jump into a pod (the standard cabins) or enjoy the open bar in one of the ‘Happy Half-Hour’ experience that runs from noon until 1am.
If you’re only in town for one night, then we strongly recommend heading to a classic steakhouse for a world-class dining. Our choice is BLT Steak, located at Bally’s. Known for their Gruyère-laced popovers, these incredible puff pastries put the sin in sin city. They are that good. As is everything on the menu, from the Alaskan King Crab Legs to the succulent Lamb Chops to their 28-day dry-aged NY Strip. Top off the meal with something delicious from their dessert menu.
No trip to Vegas would be complete without seeing some incredible entertainment. And if you can only see one show in Vegas, then make it be “Absinthe.” This show has received numerous accolades, too many to mention but just know that it’s considered to be the “Greatest Show in Las Vegas History.” No small achievement. It’s a sexy, daring and mind-blowing spectacle featuring acro-circus stunts with a burlesque vibe that is truly original.
There you have it: a jam-packed day featuring a touch of the best in dining and entertainment, along with a great photo opportunity to memorialize your best day ever. A don’t worry, you can sleep on the plane!
