Family Deals on Las Vegas Vacation

It’s no secret that Vegas can be an expensive town, so when kids are coming along on the vacation, it’s important to plan ahead so you don’t end up with too many surprise expenses. First off, make a budget so you have a reasonable idea of how much you can spend. Make sure to account for impulse buys, snacks and souvenirs. And to keep the budget even more affordable, try to take advantage of, as many attractions in Vegas are that are “free” that way you can save your money for bigger ticket items like shows and tours.

From The Strip to the popular ‘Downtown on Fremont,’ there are loads of free attractions to check out all over town. Here are a few that the whole family can enjoy.

While you many have seen them once or twice before, The Bellagio Fountains is truly a landmark attraction in Vegas. With beautiful music and an incredible water show, it never gets old. The show runs every 30 minutes during the day and every 15 minutes at night. Make sure to go inside the Bellagio and check out their Conservatory and the exquisite Botanical Gardens. It’s open year round and changes seasonally. It’s quite a sight to see iconic paintings brought to life through the careful design of plants and flowers.

Another spectacular free show to see along The Strip is The Mirage’s Volcano eruption. It runs Sunday through Thursday, 8pm and 9pm, and Friday through Saturday 8pm-10pm, hourly. For the best place to stand where you can avoid the crowds go across the street and watch from the viewing area at the Venetian/Casino Royale.

At the Caesars Forum Shop, be sure to check out the ‘The Fall of Atlantis’ show that runs Sunday through Thursday 11am-10pm and Friday-Saturday 11am-11pm every hour. For fans of Percy Jackson and Greek myth buffs alike, this is a really cool show.

Also, there’s The Wynn’s ‘Lake of Dream’ that runs nightly every 30 minutes during 6pm-11:30pm. Playing a variety of music, the kids get a chance to sing along to some of their favorite Disney classics during a beautiful water show.

Over at Circus Circus, The Midway has always been a great place where entertainment takes center stage in Vegas. Starting at 11:30am daily, there’s a circus style variety show every hour. Plus, there’s an incredible arcade featuring great games that can keep the kids occupied for a while. And if your kids love arcades, then make sure to head over to the Excalibur for their Fun Dungeon arcade that also features several carnival style games as well.

While you could spend your entire trip never stepping a foot off The Strip, you really should head downtown and check out The Fremont Street Experience Light Show. It runs hourly Sunday through Thursday 6pm to Midnight and Friday through Saturday 6pm to 1am. The kids will love Container Park, which is located just off Fremont. There’s a tree house designed playground, free concerts, movie nights, shopping, restaurants, and more.. After 9pm, the area does have the age restriction of 21 and up so this is a good place to come during the day or afternoon.

Now, if after those free shows you hear your kids still want to see a big Vegas production, then head to one of the Tix4Tonight booths along The Strip and get great last-minute deals on the best shows in Vegas or purchase online at From magic to family fun, from tribute shows and more, the friendly staff will be able to help you find the perfect show that everyone in the family can agree on.
