Yayoi Kusama Las Vegas

The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art invites you to experience the art of world-renowned Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. Celebrated for her otherworldly manipulations of space and light, the Kusama installations transport guests to infinite planes of visionary wonder where they explore light-filled realms of mirrored reflections. Bellagio presents two powerfully immersive contemporary art experiences designed by Kusama entitled Aftermath of Oblivion of Eternity, and Narcissus Garden.

Aftermath of Obliteration of Eternity is a transcendent space of infinite, shimmering lights. A mirrored room of glass and light that seemingly stretches out into an infinite universe, immersing travelers in a timeless dimension of a million cast reflections, and a million souls, on every surface. This magnificent vision was created the year of Kusama’s 80th birthday and symbolizes her lifelong obsession with the dissolution of the self into the infinite.

Narcissus Garden is another acclaimed art installation created over 50 years ago by Kusama. The modern iteration features more than 500 stainless steel sliver globes polished to a mirror finish that coalesce over a formless liquid plane as passing guests gaze into countless distorted simulacrums of themselves.

Born in Matsumoto Japan in 1929, Yayoi Kusama trained in the traditional Japanese painting style Nihonga, then became increasingly influenced by American Abstract Impressionism and transitioned to her unique and recognized style that fuses traditional, avant garde, surrealism and pop art. Kusama is widely acclaimed as one of the greatest living Japanese Artists and Time Magazine named her one of the most influential people in the world in 2016.

The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art has built an illustrious reputation as Las Vegas’ premier fine art gallery, featuring the works of the world’s greatest living and historic artists, the Bellagio invites you to enter the infinite, and experience the transcendent art of Yayoi Kusama.
